Description
A bivalve mollusk shell characterized by an irregular, heavily encrusted exterior, often camouflaged with marine growth. The interior is strikingly colorful, displaying concentric bands of deep purple, maroon, reddish-orange, and white nacre, centered around a prominent yellowish adductor muscle scar. Adults are sessile, cementing themselves to hard substrates.
