Description

A moderately large, heavy, and conical seashell. The spire is moderately elevated and pointed, with a somewhat angulate shoulder. The body whorl is generally straight-sided. The shell surface is smooth, often with fine growth lines and subtle spiral striations, particularly towards the base. The aperture is long and narrow. The shell exhibits a striking color pattern of irregular, blotchy, dark brown to orange-brown markings on a white or cream background, often forming a somewhat reticulated or tent-like pattern. Small darker brown dots or dashes are frequently present within the lighter areas.
