Description
A small, predatory sea snail belonging to the Muricidae family, characterized by its heavily camouflaged appearance. The shell is off-white to cream, but is largely obscured by a thick, textured periostracum or epibionts that mimic the surrounding sandy-rocky substrate. It exhibits a fusiform shape with a prominent siphonal canal and strong axial ribs, which are partially visible beneath the external growth. The overall texture is rough and somewhat frondose, aiding in its excellent camouflage.
