Description

A small to medium-sized, ovate, and glossy cowrie shell. The dorsal surface is typically brownish-yellow to orange-brown, densely covered with numerous white, often ringed, spots and sometimes interspersed with smaller bluish-grey spots. The margins are often thickened and may show purplish or reddish-brown speckles. The ventral side is pale, often pinkish-white, with a prominent, deeply purple or violet aperture. The columellar and labial teeth are well-developed and typically pale orange or cream.
