Description

A striking bivalve mollusk shell, characterized by its ovate, equivalve form and elaborate ornamentation. The exterior surface displays numerous fine concentric growth lines and prominent radial ribs, which extend into a series of long, flattened, comb-like spines along the posterior margin. The interior of the shell is smooth, often exhibiting a rich purplish-pink coloration, contrasting with the paler exterior. The hinge line is robust, typical of the Veneridae family.
