Description

A large, heavy marine gastropod shell, commonly known as Jourdan's Turban. The shell is turbinate (top-shaped) with a relatively low spire and a broad body whorl. Its exterior is typically dark reddish-brown to almost black, often exhibiting growth lines and a somewhat smooth but robust texture. A distinctive feature is its thick, calcareous, pale yellowish-white operculum, clearly visible in the image. This species is known for its considerable size.
