Description

A medium-sized, fan-shaped scallop shell, displaying vibrant reddish-brown and purplish-red coloration with lighter cream or white radial bands. The shell surface is characterized by numerous strong, rounded radial ribs, some of which appear to bifurcate. It exhibits unequal auricles (ears) at the hinge line, with the anterior auricle being larger and more sculptured. The shell is held in a human hand, suggesting a size of approximately 40-50 mm for this specimen.
